Call for Nominations for TFDA's Board of Directors
Elections to the Triangle Flying Disc Association board of directors will be held online
concurrent with Winter League registration from October 1 to November 4. Terms are for 2
years and the board meets monthly to conduct business and initiate and monitor projects
that promote Ultimate in the Triangle for youth and adults. Board members will work for an
hour or two per week on projects between meetings.
Serving on the board is a great way to be more involved in your community, make new friends,
develop leadership skills, and influence the development of your favorite sport in this area.
All board members will be actively engaged in TFDA.s primary on-going project, the Ultiplex,
and will commit time and creative energy to the fundraising that makes the Ultiplex and other
goals financially achievable. You can make a contribution in the area of your interest or
expertise, such as accounting, league organization, youth Ultimate, web technology, marketing,
legal issues, field/land development, and party planning. Yes, party planning!
No matter what career path you're on, service on the board of a non-profit organization with
hundreds of members and a substantial annual budget adds depth to your resume.
Nominees to the board must be 18 years of age, and you must be a member of TFDA to vote.
Deadline for nominations is September 25.
If you have someone in mind to nominate, please check with the potential candidate first to
make sure he or she is willing and able to run, and then send your nomination to
.
Note: YES, you can nominate yourself!

While checking them out, consider purchasing a print or 3 of yourself or a friend making a hot
play or giving your best effort. Immortalize your athletic prowess! All images are printed
at a professional photo lab and usually arrive within a few days in the mail. When you order
prints, you will be given an option to crop them at checkout time. All purchases help TFDA
fund the ultiplex project to bring our membership the long-sought reality of our own dedicated
field space for this sport that we love. So help us get there!
Summer League Results: Shepard/McCormack's "Hunny Pass" dominate
The 2009 TFDA Summer League has successfully completed another season of spirited
ultimate competition in Holly Springs. This year's champions were captained by the
capable and experienced players, Chris Shepard and Lesley McCormack. They lost 1 game
the entire season, including an undefeated run during both days of tournament play, not
without several challenging matches, including the championship final game against
the squad captained by Victor Maneilly. Read the full tournament write-up, courtesy of
Christian Schwoerke, here:
